Position Overview: We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented HR Coordinator to join our expanding team at the Illinois Hammer Injury Law Firm. This role is crucial in supporting our HR department's daily operations and ensuring the smooth execution of HR processes. The HR Coordinator will report directly to the Human Resources Manager (HRM) and will serve as a backup to the HR Generalist. As an HR Coordinator, you will be responsible for a variety of tasks including event coordination, policy updating, and day-to-day office tasks. You will play a key role in maintaining efficient HR operations and supporting the overall goals of the HR department. This position requires a proactive individual with strong organizational skills and the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.

Responsibilities:

  • Event Coordination: Plan and coordinate company events, including team-building activities, training sessions, and other HR-related events. Ensure all events are well-organized and executed smoothly.
  • Policy Updating: Assist in the development and updating of HR policies and procedures. Ensure that all policies are current and compliant with legal standards. Communicate policy changes to staff effectively.
  • Day-to-Day Office Tasks: Handle daily administrative tasks such as maintaining employee records, processing HR documents, and managing HR-related inquiries. Ensure the office runs efficiently and all HR tasks are completed in a timely manner. Manage and upkeep firm equipment inventory to new hires and terminated employees.
  • Microsoft Office Suite:  Experience with the Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook, with a strong emphasis on proficiency with Microsoft SharePoint. This includes managing site collections, permissions, and user access; creating, organizing, and maintaining document libraries and lists; utilizing SharePoint's collaboration features such as team sites, workflows, and integration with Microsoft Teams; and experience with SharePoint Designer, Power Automate, and Power Apps for creating custom solutions and automating processes.
  • Assist and backup Human Resources Manager and Human Resources Generalist in Confidential HR Tasks and Duties: Assist the HRM with confidential HR tasks and duties, ensuring discretion and professionalism in handling sensitive information. Provide support to the HR Generalist in their duties, including recruitment, onboarding, and time clock monitoring. Step in to cover the HR Generalist's responsibilities as needed.

Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of experience in HR or an HR degree with 2 years of experience.
  • 2+ years of Microsoft SharePoint experience.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Canva.
  • Design/graphic design skills are a plus.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills with attention to detail.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.

Schedule:

  • 5x/week in-office schedule. Hybrid schedule evaluated after 6 months.

Pay Range:

  • $52,000/annually
